Unedited shot of people celebrating the Queensday in Amsterdam. Taken with my Panasonic DMC-FZ8. No editing :)
Yesterday we celebrated the Queensday in the best country in the world, even though it wasn't really the Queen's Birthday but her dead mother's special day...yes, we're weird like that, we'd rather celebrate a dead Queen than to have a massive outside event on January 31st, when it's Beatrix's real Birthday :)
I went downtown with some friends to enjoy the biggest, best party in the world with drinks, smokes and sunshine and even though is was not as busy as in previous years, it was fun anyway and we'll do it again next year :)
I think every country, even those without a Queen or King, should have a giant celebration once a year where everybody can go nuts, throw all their old stuff from the attic in the street and try to sell it while consuming shocking amounts of alcoholic beverages, covered in giant smoke clouds emitting from various legal and illegal sources, stunned by way-too-loud music coming out of every available speaker, earphone and DJ-booth!
The city cleaners are on strike...excellent timing ;-D
I've made millions of movies of the Queensday as well, watch them on my YouTube page!
