Unedited shot of the Hermitage in Amsterdam, reflected in a puddle. Taken with my Sony HX1. No editing, no magic tricks, no Photoshop :)
As you might know, we lurve Art here in good old Amsterdam, the city has more Museums than bikes, and one of the latest additions to our evergrowing pile of artsy places is the Hermitage, that we established in a wonderful building right by the Amstel. Of course that pretty building wasn't empty when somebody had the great idea to build a Dutch version of this Russian treat, it was an Old-folks home, full of old people that have been living there for years and years, but had to leave to make room for all the art...and I can't help but wondering how they felt about having to leave their homes and move to the outskirts of the best city in the world, just so that tourists can pretend that they're in Russia for a couple of hours. Poor old people, if I had anything to say about this, they could return to their homes tomorrow, and spend their remaining days chilling out between all the art pieces :)
