Slightly edited shot of a newly-wed couple in a bakfiets at the Rembrandtplein in Amsterdam. Taken with my Panasonic DMC-FZ8. No editing besides some added lightness and contrast, no magic tricks, no Photoshop :)

As you might know, the Dutch have a very close relationship with their bikes and most daily activities are performed while riding on them...but did you know that it's very much socially acceptable to get married and spend your Honeymoon in one of those box-bikes? This couple has wasted away the last 2 weeks of their lives biking around, enjoying the views and the charms of Amsterdam, but you can tell by their tired faces that they're ready to settle down now, get off the bike, find a hotel room and consummate their young love...but we won't let them! Being in the bakfiets you become part of the Amsterdam attractions and you're doomed to a life of circling around the center of the best city in the world for the entertainment of the masses, I guess that's what you get for believing in such an old fashioned institution as marriage, haha :-D

Thank God it's Friday!!!

More Amsterdam photos

More wicked reflections
