Usually I shoot my wicked reflections by daylight, but sometimes I get caught up in those dark hours that are a very special time in our lovely hometown Amsterdam, and I have to say, every now and then it can be very refreshing, interesting and educative to spend some time in the wicked, dark underbelly of our very own Sin City, something we locals don't do very often, we usually leave all the sleaze and scandalous things for our visitors...oh Amsterdam, you lovely old lady with your dazzling colors and your blinding lights, luring us into your dark, sticky corners and back-alleys :)

Back...

Our beautiful city Amsterdam is really old ("The earliest recorded use of the name "Amsterdam" is from a certificate dated 27 October 1275" says Wikipedia), and even though there are tons of modern things all around and happening, I often find myself standing by a canal or in the street, feeling like I've traveled through time to some lost ages of wayback. That's just one of the many things this place does to you, and I'm loving it...luckily even with all this time-traveling we still have the Interwebs to share these moments with the rest of the world :)

Yesterday was a beautiful Indian Summer day and I was lucky enough to find some puddles to capture the golden hour in a reflection. I just totally love my city, it always looks good, even in a wet spot :)
